A Different Kind of Adventure - August 11-17, 2013
Overview
Winnebago Scout Reservation in Rockaway NJ is your base camp for this exciting adventure. Arrive at camp on Sunday afternoon. You will get a chance to set up camp, meet the other participants, visit the waterfront, and get a briefing of the week's schedule.
On Monday to Friday you will depart for New York City each day after breakfast and return to camp for dinner. Evenings can be spent relaxing at camp enjoying the open program areas including the aquatics and the shooting sports areas. Several evenings will include movies and videos related to the next day’s activities. Friday evening will include a farewell dinner and campfire. Depart for home after breakfast on Saturday.

Open to Scouts, Venturers and Scouters
All Boy Scouts, Venturers and registered Scouters are invited to participate. There are no age limits or rank requirements, just the desire to see and explore one of the world’s most exciting cities. Though public transit will be used some days, most of the touring will consist of walking. Participants should be in good physical condition and be prepared hike to the sights.

Winnebago Scout Reservation
Situated in the heart of the Copperas Mountains in Rockaway NJ, Winnebago is a hidden Boy Scout treasure. It is only 40 miles from the hustle of New York City and yet so quiet. The reservation encompasses more than 450 acres of woodland for outdoor adventure. Durham Pond covers 60 acres for swimming, sailing, boating and amazing bass fishing. Winnebago has large, private campsites for a great summer experience.
Our new bath house with flush toilets and individual shower stalls is available to all. A second shower house also offers coin operated laundry facilities. Activities include a skateboard half pipe, batting cage with pitching machine, shooting sports, fishing, boating and swimming.
