Trailblazer Day Camp for first year Scouts

Tree HouseTrailblazer Day Camp for younger Scouts moving up from Webelos gives the Scout a positive initial experience with summer camp. Scouts participate in our morning Dan Beard program which is staffed by adults and many Eagle Scouts. We emphasize the patrol method, provide instruction in outdoor skills and work on advancement requirements from Tenderfoot to First Class. After lunch, Scouts get to visit different programs areas every day. Aquatics is the normal focus from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm. This includes Swimming merit badge for Scouts who pass the swimmer test, and swimming instruction for the others. Scouts can also choose to work on any other merit badge offered from 2:00 - 3:00 pm.  Be sure to visit our tree house for day campers! Coming for more than one week? Most first year Scouts participate in the Dan Beard program their first week at camp. They can then choose to work on merit badges during the remaining week(s).

SwimmingTrailblazer Day Camp for Older Scouts

Trailblazer Day Camp for the older Scout focuses on merit badges, i.e. completing partials, work on advancement or just utilize the aquatics area or the shooting sports area to hone skills. If you are not yet First Class, you can also work on advancement requirements from Tenderfoot to First Class. Older Scouts often come to day camp because they have evening activities or a job that doesn't let them stay overnight. If you want a overnight resident camp experience, be sure to visit the link on the left for our Camp Troop.
