Camp Somers is apart of the Mt. Allamuchy Scout Reservation owned and operated by the Patriots' Path Council, B.S.A. in Stanhope, New Jersey.

We offer three types of programs at Camp Somers:

 

Types of Camping

        1. Residential Camping (Merit Badges, advancement, fun)

        2. Provisional Camping - Camp Troop (Camp without your Troop or camp for more weeks)

        3. First Year Boy Scout DAY Camp

 

 

Our Residential Camp Program gives you the opportunity to:

• Learn how to Scuba Dive

• Earn Merit Badges/Learn new skills

• Mountain Bike

• Do some great fishing on our ponds

• Star Gaze with our Ecology Department

• Dine at our Dining Hall - food service is fantastic!

• Develop Teamwork and Leadership skills

• Provisional camp (Camp Troop) for those who want to do week(s) at Camp Somers without their Troop.

Dear Scoutmasters, Advisors, Parents, and Scouts,

It is our firm belief that summer camp is the pinnacle week of the year for any Scout Troop or Venture Crew.  Let Camp Somers support your Troop or Crew in its year-long commitment to Physical Fitness, Character Building, and Fostering of Citizenship.  Camp Somers is proud to be entering our 58th season and we want you to be a part of our distinguished tradition.

With our highly trained and enthusiastic staff, Camp Somers will surely be a memorable experience for any Scout.  Our programs such as Mountain Biking, Rock Climbing, SCUBA BSA, C.O.P.E., and Snorkeling, as well as our extensive list of Merit Badge offerings will certainly give Scouts more opportunities to try something new or offer them new challenges that they would not be able to experience anywhere else!

We are constantly working to improve our facilities and programs, therefore if you haven't been to Camp Somers in a while (or ever!), come see what we have to offer - we are certain you will not be disappointed.  Finally to our Troops that come to Camp Somers year after year: thank you for your support and for making Camp Somers part of your Scouts' Scouting Trails.

                                        * Campsites have covered pavilions with equipment storage

        Each campsite includes: a water spigot, a 'class A' latrine with a washstand, a flag pole, a bulletin board, a picnic table for each patrol, and a fire pit.

CAMP TROOP Camping:

       The CAMP TROOP of Camp Somers offers those Scouts an opportunity to attend summer camp without a troop.  Scouts can also attend additional summer weeks at Somers with the Provisional Troop.
