HEALTH AND SAFETY POLICIES
FOR SHORT-TERM CAMPING
FOR ALL PATRIOTS’ PATH COUNCIL FACILITIES

Part I – Back of Short Term Camp Use Application

  1. On arrival, check in with the Campmaster/Ranger, turn in your tour
    permit, unit roster, and security deposit, and receive a fire permit. Check in is 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday.
  2. A $50 damage deposit is required per building reserved and $25 for tent sites. Fee waived for District and Council events.
  3. Two adult leaders must be present at all times during your attendance at our camps.
  4. Snowmobiles, motorcycles and ATV’s are not permitted in camp. ATV’s are permitted to be used by maintenance staff.
  5. No pets are permitted on camp property. Year round camp residents are allowed pets, but they must be under control of the owner at all times.
  6. THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA PROHIBITS THE USE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES AND CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES AT ENCAMPMENTS OR ACTIVITIES ON PROPERTY OWNED AND OPERATED BY THE BOY SCOUTS OF AMERICA, OR AT ANY ACTIVITY INVOLVING THE PARTICIPATION OF YOUTH MEMBERS. THIS INCLUDES OFFSITE LOCATIONS BEFORE OR DURING THE ACTIVITY.
  7. No fireworks, no firearms, no chain saws, no bows and arrows, and no sheath knives are permitted in camp. No hunting or gambling is permitted in camp.
  8. A first aid kit must be displayed and easily available.
  9. Fishing is permitted from the shore of our camp lakes. Complete rules will be provided at check-in. No fishing allowed in the swimming areas. Persons required by state law to do so, must have a fishing license.
  10. Cabin capacity limits are strictly enforced. Bring tents if you exceed the limits.
  11. No heaters (kerosene, electric, propane, etc.) allowed in camp
  12. Groups can cook on open wood, or charcoal fires, or propane, or liquid fuel (kerosene, Coleman, white gas, etc.) stoves. For further instruction, refer to the Liquid Fuel Policy.
  13. Each group should provide a rake or shovel and fire buckets for their outdoor fire area.
  14. Due to environmental regulations and rising costs, we must mandate that all units
    recycle plastic, bi-metal and aluminum cans and glass. All other refuse must be in garbage bags, tied, and then placed in the camp dumpsters or taken home.
  15. Prior to leaving, facilities will be checked by the Campmster/Ranger. You will need to turn in your camp evaluation, and get back your tour permit and security deposit. Check out is after 8:00 a.m. on Saturday and 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
