Warren Wheeler Adventureship Request

This request may be used by Scouts to apply for financial assistance for all Patriots’ Path summer camp programs, High Adventure Programs (Philmont, Northern tier, sea Base, etc.), Junior Leader Training Course. National Junior Leader Instructor Camp and other Council programs. Every Scout should be given an opportunity to take part in all Scouting adventures. This Adventureship program has been established so that Scout families will find these programs within reach. As with all Scout programs, it is based on the time honored principle that an individual earns his own way. By far the best way to acquire the necessary resources is for the Scout to begin a work and savings program far in advance.

CHALLENGING OUTDOOR PERSONAL EXPERIENCE (C.O.P.E.)
is an exciting outdoor program that strives to develop teamwork, communication, trust, self esteem, problem solving, decision making and fun in a group setting. This is the perfect opportunity to get troop Junior Leaders together and develop great troop teamwork.

BEAVER DAY
Beaver Day is a day long program during which units and individual volunteers work on improvement projects at Mt. Allamuchy and Winnebago Scout Reservations. The ADOPT-A-SITE program is a yearlong maintenance and improvement effort undertaken by a registered Patriots’ Path Council unit. Both BEAVER DAY and the ADOPT-A-SITE programs involve individual and unit recognition and provide opportunities for youth leadership.

SHOOTING SPORTS
Mt. Allamuchy and Winnebago Scout Reservations have .22 caliber single shot rifles and archery equipment that may be rented by troops while weekend camping. The rifles and/or archery equipment can be checked out from the Camp Ranger or Campmaster provided certain stated conditions have been met.

VEHICLE POLICY FOR CAMPING
All the camps maintained by Patriots’ Path Council are designed for rustic camping. The campsites are in the woods and a 5 to 10 minute walk from a parking lot. They are designed with Scout camping methods in mind; please follow the established policies as published.

CLIMB ON SAFELY
is the Boy Scouts of America’s recommended procedure for organizing BSA climbing/rappelling activities at a natural site or a specifically designed facility such as a climbing wall or tower.

LEAVE NO TRACE
The Leave No Trace principles might seem unimportant until you consider the combined effects of millions of outdoor visitors. One poorly located campsite and campfire may have little significance, but thousands of such instances seriously degrade the outdoor experience for all. Leaving no trace is everyone’s responsibility.
